Within the framework of the Horticulture Market Development program of Syunik-Development NGO, an experimental practical training course on Grapevine pruning was implemented in collaboration with Shen NGO.
The seminar was conducted by Karen Gabrielyan, an agronomist of Shen NGO. During the training, the following topics were discussed:
the necessity of Grapevine pruning,
actions to ensure the rapid growth of the vine,
increase yields through pruning,
crop quality,
the use of rootstock. Farmers obtained knowledge about grapevine systems and got acquainted with the chronology of the pruning process.
The participants of the training course were farmers from the Vayots Dzor region, including Janik Hovsepyan, Gagik Sargsyan, Armen Adamyan, Vachik Adamyan, Volodya Zakaryan, Harut Ghazaryan, Razmik Aloyan, Simon Hovhannisyan, Narek Nazaryan, Gagik Mkrtchyan, Mayis Manaseryan, and Aghvan Martirosyan. All the participants received information leaflets on the above-listed topics.
