MEETING-DISCUSSION WITH THE YOUTH MOBILITY PROJECT COORDINATORS

The first stage of the Youth Mobility project initiated by the Vayots Dzor Diocese and Syunik-Development NGO was ended.

More than 400 young people from eight communities of the Vayots Dzor region took part in the mobility project.

During the project, the young people acquired knowledge on first aid, emergencies, use of weapons, military equipment, VOMA tricks. They got acquainted with the AUA open education programs, and the school of translators established by  Syunik-Development NGO.

The mobility project also provided active entertainment for the youth through campaigns, intellectual and sports games, national songs, and dances.

These meeting-discussions gave the young people an opportunity to meet, get acquainted with representatives from different spheres, from different countries, discuss questions, participate in the running possible programs.

Preliminary to the start of the second stage, a three-day meeting-discussion of the coordinators took place in Siranush camp.

The meeting aimed at

  • Summarizing the first stage of the Youth Mobility project;
  • Jointly developing the second phase of the project process and agenda;
  • Clarify the priorities and goals of the Youth Mobility project.

The coordinators had a discussion with Ararat Grigoryan, Vayots Dzor Governor, Archbishop Abraham Mkrtchyan, the Primate of the Vayots Dzor Diocese, representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Syunik-Development NGO, Ministry of Defense, and Dr. Harutyun Harutyunyan, an independent expert of Syunik-Development NGO.

They discussed the course of the previous meetings and the measures are taken.

During the meeting-discussion, the employees of Syunik-Development NGO presented another priority initiative  of the NGO by building and strengthening a network of  Youth  Initiative Groups (YIGs) from the communities who will actively participate in the process of raising community problems and can voice youth issues, facilitate different events and activities in their communities.

In the second phase of the project, more attention will be paid to the participants’ vision, revealing their abilities, and involving them in the YIG activities.

The participants of the first meeting of the second stage will be the youth of Areni community.
