Santa Claus is the most realistic for children living in Sers and Bardzruni border villages of Vayots region.  Unlike common stereotypes, the Santa of these border keepers comes not from Laplandia but from Canada located in the other side of the ocean. The initiative was leaded by primate of the Diocese H.G. Bishop Abgar Hovakimyan, dedicated work by Canadian-Armenian Diocese, Diocesan Council and by faithful Armenians. On December 27th, 2017, these two villages once again had a festive mood. It is already third year that during New Year’s Eve the Armenian Diocese of Canada provides financial support to people living in the border-villages relieving the social burden and making New Year and Christmas more colorful and memorable. The local Diocese of Vayots Dzor region organized distribution presents for children.
