Agriculture is one of the main branches of the Armenian economy. Like in different communities of Armenia, agriculture is the main source of livelihood for the population in many communities of the Vayots Dzor region too.

During its 27 years of work, Syunik-Development NGO has prioritized projects aimed at the development of agriculture. For this purpose, the NGO, in cooperation with the Canadian Atken Armenia Foundation, the Tekeyan Cultural Union in Armenia, and the Return to Kashatagh NGO, has launched an Agricultural Assistance to Families Displaced from Artsakh and sheltered in the Vayots Dzor region project which aimed at supporting the food and income of those families.

Within the framework of the project, beneficiary families are selected from different communities of the Vayots Dzor region, and they are provided with pigs and cows.

In 2021, two beneficiary families were provided with 6 pigs and three families with 2 cows each. According to the project, each beneficiary family provides newly born piglets and calves to other families. This year, 2 families returning from the Kashatagh to Vayots Dzor region were given 2 piglets each and 3 families with 1 calf each.

The Syunik-Development NGO has implemented and implements various projects to support families displaced from Artsakh.
