SKILLED WOMEN AS ECONOMIC AGENTS EXHIBITION BY JERMUK COMMUNITY CENTER USERS

Within the Syunik-Development NGO’s Improvement of Income Possibilities in Rural Areas of Armenia project a batik, and painting courses are running in the last years․

The training course, entitled Skilled Women as Economic Agents, aimed at ensuring the self-employment of creative women in the region. The 12 participants of the course learn how to illustrate souvenirs: batik, general painting, techniques of using natural paints, oil paints, and gain new skills in decorative and applied art.

On May 30, 2022, the batik and painting group held an exhibition entitled The Power of Art at the Romanos Melikyan Art School with the students of the same school.

The exhibition was launched by school children with a musical performance. The guests were presented series of art work. The batik and painting group received orders from the residents of the Jermuk community.

Such exhibitions provide publicity to the products that are key basis for self-employment.

The project is implemented with the support of the Syunik-Development NGO’s partner German Bread for the World organization.
